Silkscreen Printing Workshop @ Istanbul

Silk screen printing Workshop in collaboration with Marmara University Graphic Design Department took place at the premises of the university in Istanbul, from March to June 2018.

The bee book titled "Kara Kovan" was assigned as a term project for 16 volunteering students. The workshop started off with presentations and discussions on nature-human-bee relationship and the allocation of book chapters amongst the participants. Each student researched a specific topic in depth and prepared a chapter. Like building up the cells of a hive and filling it with nectar, they have created this rich content book with illustrations. The silk screen printing process was realised under supervision of tutor Ali Can Metin, who also took charge for the overall visual design of the book. The book was produced in 30 original copies.
